Στο χώρο του πρώην δημοτικού πριονιστηρίου του Saint Gallen δημιουργείται κατόπιν διαγωνισμού μία νέα οικιστική περιοχή με πυρήνα ένα συγκρότημα φοιτητικών και άλλων κατοικιών. Η νέα συνοικία η οποία δημιουργείται, αποτελεί ως αστικός χώρος έναν πολυδιάστατο κόσμο με κτιριακές δομές ευέλικτης χρήσης, οι οποίες δημιουργούν μικτές και βιώσιμες μορφές φοιτητικής και κοινοτικής διαβίωσης. Ταυτόχρονα, η πλατεία Sägiplatz και το πέρασμα Sägigasse λειτουργούν ως καρδιά και σκελετός της κοινωνικής αλληλεπίδρασης και των δομών πρόσβασης της νέας συνοικίας αντίστοιχα. On the site of the former municipal sawmill in Saint Gallen (Areal Stadtsäge), a new residential area is being developed following a design competition, centered around a complex of student and other housing units. The new neighborhood under construction is an urban space that constitutes a multifaceted world with flexible-use building structures, which create mixed and sustainable forms of student and community living. At the same time, Sägiplatz and Sägigasse serve as the heart and backbone of social interaction and the neighborhood’s access routes, respectively. The wood-constructed building complex maintains the collective memory of the municipal sawmill.

Σκοπός της ολικής ανακαίνισης των ακινήτων με αριθμό 25 και 31 της οδού Quellenstrasse, που ανήκουν στην εταιρεία Stiftung Solidar Suisse στη Ζυρίχη, ήταν η διαμόρφωση των νεών γραφείων της σε συνδυασμό με μία συνολική αισθητική και κατασκευαστική αναβάθμιση των κτιρίων. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο η ανακαίνιση συμπεριέλαβε ενεργειακή αναβάθμιση των όψεων και ανακατασκευή των εισόδων των κτιρίων, επέκταση της σοφίτας και μία ολική αναδιαμόρφωση του υπερυψωμένου ισογείου και υπογείου σε χώρων γραφείων. Εκεί, ο σχεδιασμός διαχωριστικών από ξύλο και γυαλί, υποδιαιρεί το χώρο σε μικρότερες ενότητες και διαμορφώνει με συστηματικό τρόπο επιπλέον βοηθητικούς χώρους όπως μικρές και μεγάλες αίθουσες συσκέψεων, κλειστούς χώρους ήσυχης εργασίας καθώς ανοιχτούς χώρους συνύπαρξης. Ελεύθερα χαμηλά έπιπλα καθώς και ενσωματωμένες ξύλινες κατασκευές δημιουργούν χώρους γκαρνταρόμπας, κλειστά ντουλάπια και ανοιχτά ράφια, διαμορφώνοντας ταυτόχρονα τη ροή κίνησης στο χώρο.
The purpose of the complete renovation of the properties at Quellenstrasse 25 and 31, owned by Stiftung Solidar Suisse in Zurich, was to create the company’s new offices while also carrying out a comprehensive aesthetic and structural upgrade of the buildings. In this context, the renovation included an energy-efficiency upgrade of the facades and reconstruction of the building entrances, an expansion of the attic, and a complete reconfiguration of the raised ground floor and basement into office spaces. There, the design of wooden and glass partitions subdivides the space into smaller units and systematically creates additional auxiliary spaces such as small and large meeting rooms, enclosed quiet work areas, and open communal spaces. Freestanding low furniture and built-in wooden structures create wardrobe spaces, closed cabinets, and open shelves, while simultaneously shaping the flow of movement within the space.

Το νέο συγκρότημα πολυκατοικιών στο Regensdorf αποτελείται από πέντε κτίρια κατοικιών με 25 έως 30 διαμερίσματα το καθένα. Τα πέντε κτίρια από κόκκινο τούβλο περιβάλλονται από έναν ευρύχωρο χώρο πρασίνου τον οποίο εκτάσεις με γκαζόν, παιδικές χαρές, συστάδες και μεμονωμένα δέντρα διαφοροποιούν, και που δημιουργεί μια αίσθηση ευρυχωρίας και γενναιοδωρίας, η οποία συναντάται και στις γειτονικές οικιστικές περιοχές της δεκαετίας του ’50. Η νέα γειτονιά που δημιουργείται μέσα από τον διαφορετικό προσανατολισμό των κτιρίων και τις ευρύχωρες αρθρώσεις τους προσφέρει υψηλό βαθμό ατομικότητας για τα μεμονωμένα διαμερίσματα και ταυτόχρονα πολλές δυνατότητες για την κοινή χρήση των εξωτερικών χώρων. Τα διαμερίσματα τριών, δύο και ενός υπνοδωματίων, έχουν σχεδόν όλα τριπλό προσανατολισμό και άπλετο φυσικό φωτισμό. Ένα ευρύχωρο μπαλκόνι τα συνδέει με το χώρο πρασίνου μεταξύ των πολυκατοικιών.
The new apartment complex in Regensdorf consists of five residential buildings, each with 25 to 30 apartments. The five red-brick buildings are surrounded by a spacious green area featuring lawns, playgrounds, and groups and individual trees, creating a sense of spaciousness and generosity that is also found in the neighboring residential areas from the 1950s. The new neighborhood, created through the varied orientation of the buildings and their spacious layout, offers a high degree of privacy for the individual apartments while also providing ample opportunities for the shared use of outdoor spaces. The three-, two-, and one-bedroom apartments almost all feature three-sided orientation and ample natural light. A spacious balcony connects them to the green space between the apartment buildings.

Η ανακαίνιση και επέκταση αυτής της διατηρητέας μονοκατοικίας γεωργιανού ρυθμού του 1821-1824 περιλαμβάνει την ανακαίνιση όλων των εσωτερικών χώρων και την πλήρη ανακατασκευή της εσωτερικής πλευρά της πρόσοψης, του υπογείου και της πίσω αυλής. Στη νέα διώροφη επέκταση από τούβλο διαμορφώθηκε ένα δωμάτιο με μεγάλους φεγγίτες και ένα μικρό μπάνιο με ντουζ. Το υπόγειο αναδιαμορφώθηκε για να φιλοξενήσει τη νέα κουζίνα. Σ’ αυτό προστέθηκε μία μονώροφη γυάλινη επέκταση για το καθιστικό με άμεση πρόσβαση στον νέο βυθισμένο πίσω κήπο, που προσέφερε επιπλέον φυσικό φωτισμό στο σύνολο του χώρου. Αντιμετωπίζοντας το διατηρητέο κτίριο με σεβασμό, ο νέος σχεδιασμός δημιούργησε ένα σύγχρονο περιβάλλον στο εσωτερικό του, ενώ μινιμαλιστικές επεκτάσεις έρχονται επιτηδευμένα σε αντίθεση με την πρόσοψη από τούβλο της γεωργιανής αρχιτεκτονικής, αναδεικνύοντας τις διάφορες φάσεις του κτιρίου που συνυπάρχουν σ’έναν ενδιαφέροντα διάλογο.
The renovation and expansion of this listed Georgian-style single-family home, dating from 1821–1824, includes the renovation of all interior spaces and the complete reconstruction of the interior side of the facade, the basement, and the rear courtyard. In the new two-story brick extension, a room with large skylights and a small bathroom with a shower were created. The basement was remodeled to house the new kitchen. A single-story glass extension was added as the living room, providing direct access to the new sunken backyard, which offered additional natural light throughout the space. The master bedroom and bathroom were placed on the first floor. Treating the listed building with respect, the new design created a contemporary interior environment, while the minimalist extensions deliberately contrast with the brick facade of Georgian architecture, highlighting the building’s various phases as they coexist in an intriguing dialogue.

Η κάτοψη του κτιρίου αποτελείται από τέσσερις διαφορετικούς όγκους γύρω από μία κεντρική αυλή με έναν χαμηλό χώρο καθιστικού με τζάκι και πισίνα. Ο κύριος όγκος στεγάζει όλους τους κοινόχρηστους χώρους, την κουζίνα και το καθιστικό, καθώς και τρία δίκλινα δωμάτια με ιδιωτικά μπάνια. Located an hour south of Lisbon, in Comporta, this holiday residence was designed to serve either as a vacation home for a family or a couple, or as a guesthouse with four double bedrooms. The floor plan consists of four distinct volumes arranged around a central courtyard featuring a low-slung living area with a fireplace and a swimming pool. The main volume houses all the common areas, the kitchen, and the living room, as well as three double bedrooms with private bathrooms. The remaining structures consist of two small, independent villas with a bedroom and private bathroom, as well as a small outbuilding with a storage area and laundry room. A paved path leads to the beach through the sand dunes. The simple and minimalist design of the residence blends harmoniously into the Mediterranean landscape, featuring the palm trees and characteristic pine trees of Comporta and the sandy surroundings of the area.

Τα κτίρια ενσωματώνονται στο επικλινές έδαφος μέσω του σχεδιασμού σε διαφορετικά επίπεδα και δένουν αρμονικά με τον ιστό της γειτονιάς, ο οποίος χαρακτηρίζεται από μικρές πολυκατοικίες και μονοκατοικίες. Η ανοιχτή διάταξη των κτιρίων προκύπτει μέσα από την οικονομική διαχείριση του διαθέσιμου όγκου δόμησης και τον ευρύχωρο και πλούσια διαμορφωμένο περιβάλλοντα χώρο. Three buildings, ranging from three to four stories, house a total of 32 apartments—three-bedroom, two-bedroom, and one-bedroom units. The buildings are integrated into the sloping terrain through their design on different levels and blend harmoniously with the neighborhood fabric, which is characterized by small apartment buildings and single-family homes. The open layout of the buildings results from the efficient use of the available building volume and the spacious and richly landscaped surrounding area. All apartments feature balconies facing west and southwest, while the living room and kitchen are located on the entrance side of the apartment building, and, in combination with the adjacent outdoor common areas, contribute to the vibrancy of the neighborhood and social interaction.

Three different types of buildings—a low-rise complex of three apartment buildings with an inner courtyard, a linear apartment building, and a 60-meter-tall residential tower — house a diverse and attractive range of apartments for a wide spectrum of tenants, in an open layout that creates welcoming communal spaces and smooth spatial transitions to neighboring buildings. The typological diversity of the buildings is combined with efficient, sustainable, and economical load-bearing structures that are themselves varied. The tower adopts a concrete structure with columns and slabs, the linear apartment building an all-wood construction, while the complex with the inner courtyard features a hybrid construction with wooden columns, concrete beams, and reused roof slabs from pre-existing buildings.

Το νέο κτίριο του Klinikum 2 του Πανεπιστημιακού Νοσοκομείου της Βασιλείας αποτελείται από έναν πύργο ύψους 60 μέτρων που στεγάζει τα κρεβάτια των ασθενών και ένα κτίριο βάσης που θα φιλοξενεί τις κλινικές λειτουργίες, Με το υπάρχον Klinikum 1 πλαισιώνουν το Spitalgarten, τον σημαντικότερο δημόσιο χώρο του νοσοκομειακού συγκροτήματος. The new Klinikum 2 building at the University Hospital of Basel consists of a 60-meter-tall tower housing patient beds and a base building that will house clinical functions, Together with the existing Klinikum 1, they frame the Spitalgarten, the hospital complex’s most important public space. Temporarily, for a period of ten years, the Klinikum 2 building is accompanied by the addition of the Notfall Provisorium, a structure made of steel and wood, which will house the Emergency Department for the anticipated duration of the interim work on the clinic’s final building. Internal courtyards of various sizes allow daylight to enter the interior and facilitate orientation. A semi-public, two-story corridor provides clear access to all key functions. Prefabricated concrete elements are used in the construction of the final building, while the infill alternates between glass curtain walls and opaque panels to meet all functional requirements.
